Captain Mark Talasek is the one you are looking for if you
want to go catching instead of just fishing. He is one of
the few full-time guides in Matagorda who's only job is guiding.
Captain Mark was born and raised in the Matagorda area & has
been fishing since he was 6 years old. He comes from a family
of commercial fishermen. His father is also a full-time fishing
guide and brother operates a local bait camp. A life long
experience of studying bay patterns help Captain Mark and

captain and full-time freelance outdoor writer and photographer.
Grimes is a member of the Texas Outdoor Writers Association
and Outdoor Writers Association of America, where he has won
numerous writing and photography awards. He is a regular contributor

Coastal Fishing Report and Weekly Migratory Bird Hunting Report
for Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. His favorite method
of fishing is wading and drifting with artificial lures; however,
